KHome player Johana Cheptoo delivered a remarkable performance to win the Minet Kenya Golf tournament at the Eldoret Golf Club over the weekend.

Playing on home turf, Cheptoo finished with an impressive score of 41 stableford points to secure the overall title.

The tournament not only showcased top-tier golfing talent but also celebrated the grand opening of Minet Kenya’s new branch at Daima Tower in Eldoret Town, marking a significant step in the company’s network expansion.

Cheptoo said he has played one of the best games since he started playing golf, and the effort he has invested in it has started earning dividends.

“My best game was today, and I’m looking forward to playing good golf. Actually, I bought a new driver and I have seen that my investment has started giving good results. I missed two clubs and an eagle, which could have propelled me to a higher level,” said Cheptoo.

In the fiercely competitive Men’s category, Navraj Sagoo shone brightly, achieving a superb score of 41 stableford points while playing off a handicap of 17, proudly securing the top prize.

Not far behind, the determined Jaydeep Shah, competing off a handicap of 21, delivered a commendable performance with 40 stableford points, earning him the second-place position.

The Ladies’ category was equally thrilling, with Adam Waseka leading the pack with a stellar score of 41 stableford points while competing off a handicap of 22.

Close on her heels was Jane Koech, who, playing off a handicap of 19, demonstrated her golfing prowess with a strong score of 39 stableford points to finish as the runner-up.

In addition to the main event, the Guest prize was hotly contested, with Godfrey Kitiwa emerging victorious by scoring 35 stableford points, followed closely by Dr. Oliver Langat, who matched his score, showcasing resilience and skill on the course.

Among the Senior Men golfers, Shanti Shah stood out, claiming the title with an impressive score of 36 stableford points. Meanwhile, in the Senior Ladies’ category, the esteemed Jedidah Keitany played splendidly off a handicap of 21 to secure her victory with a score of 34 stableford points, rounding off a day filled with remarkable achievements and spirited golf.
