More than 250 participants are expected to compete at the Minet Kenya Annual Golf Tournament at the 18-hole course at the Karen Country Club on January 9.
The hosts will be represented by about 10 players in a tournament that brings together corporate leaders and decision-makers from the banking, insurance, manufacturing and professional services.
Joe Onsando, Minet Group CEO, said, “We are currently operating in an increasingly complex business environment, and strong relationships remain our most valuable asset. We are proud to bring together our clients, partners, and industry peers for a day that reflects the values we uphold, including trust, collaboration, and forward-thinking engagement.”
The full-day event will feature competition across multiple categories, including Overall Winner, Men’s and Ladies’ Winners and Runners-Up, Industry Champion, Guest categories and Best Performing Holes.
Awards will be presented during a prize-giving ceremony that will close the day alongside a networking reception.
Peter Kariuki, Karen Country Club captain, said the tournament blends competition with collaboration.
“Sport has the power to unite communities, bridge cultural divides, and open doors to new possibilities for everyone involved. We are honored to host Minet Kenya and their guests on our world-class course and look forward to an engaging tournament,” he said.
The event also comes as sports and business increasingly intersect, particularly in insurance.
The sector is projected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 9.1 per cent, reaching Sh338.3 billion by 2029, driven by corporate demand for risk management and tailored financial solutions, including microinsurance.
Golf, with its high-net-worth participants and structured interactions, remains a preferred avenue for players and companies to strengthen relationships, generate new business, and showcase both skill and strategy on and off the course.
