Insurance brokerage firm, Minet, has donated K11 million to the Malawi Red Cross Society (MRCS) to help survivors of Tropical Cyclone Freddy.

Minet General Manager Lester Chinyang’anya said the donation is aimed at assisting MRCS in the recovery programme targeting people that were affected by Tropical Cyclone Freddy.

He said Minet made the donation in pursuit of its third pillar, which is people.

Chinyang’anya observed that under the pillar, Minet’s guiding philosophy is playing an active role in improving the lives of people in communities that it serves. “When Tropical Cyclone Freddy hit the nation early this year, as a caring corporate citizen, we responded with relief items and reached out to some of the affected people through different channels”, Chinyang’anya said.

MRCS Director of Programmes and Development – Prisca Chisala – thanked Minet for the donation.
