As the largest Aon Global Network Correspondent, Minet has access to a network of over 50,000 colleagues in 120 countries as well as proprietary data, research and analytics which enable us to manage and secure the risks of tomorrow and provide clients with an unrivalled advantage.

Our journey started almost 70 years ago as JH Minet Company. In 1997 Aon, the leading global provider of risk management, human resource consulting and outsourcing, acquired the U.K. shareholder, London Minet, as part of their African expansion strategy. As a result, the company became Aon Minet, and subsequently Aon. In 2017 private equity firm Capitalworks acquired Aon’s shareholding in several African operations, alongside local shareholders including governments in many markets, which has created what is now Aon’s largest Global Network Correspondent.

LEADERSHIP

Sammy Muthui
Chief Executive Officer

Sammy Muthui is Chief Executive Officer at Minet Kenya and has overall responsibility for the formulation and implementation of business strategies and driving the organization forward. Sammy was previously Managing Director of Aon Kenya, where he built a strong track record of growing and improving Aon’s businesses in Kenya. Sammy has 20 years of experience in the insurance sector, he holds a BA degree in Economics from the University of Nairobi and is a member of the Life Office Management Association.

Lydiah Macharia
Director: Employee Benefits

Lydiah Macharia is Director: Employee Benefits at Minet Kenya. Lydiah’s previous role was Employee Benefits Director at Aon Kenya and has more than 25 years of experience in the local market across healthcare, life assurance, retirement benefits, investments, and actuarial services. Lydiah holds a BA degree in International Relations (Hons) from the United States International University–Africa and is a Professional of the Healthcare Academy.

Caroline Nderitu
Director: Finance and Administration

Caroline Nderitu is Director: Finance and Administration at Minet Kenya. Caroline’s previous role was Chief Accountant at Aon Kenya and has more than a decade’s experience in the financial sector, nine of which have been spent in leadership positions. Caroline holds an MBA in Finance and a BCom Honours degree in Finance, both from the University of Nairobi in Kenya. She is also a Fellow of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Eric Rugo
Director: Minet Risk Solutions

Eric Rugo is Director: Minet Risk Solutions at Minet Kenya and is responsible for the risk services in the disciplines of General Insurance for Corporate and Retail, Reinsurance, Claims, and Risk Management Business lines. Eric has a vast experience of more than 20 years in the local insurance market and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Financial Services Management. He furthermore is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII).
